She is preceded in death by her Parents, sisters, Wanda June Petty, Norita Dosier, and Paulette Jones, and brothers, Charles and Tony Petty. Surviving siblings include sister, Marlene Carr and brothers, Darrell and Phillip and Kissy Petty. Peggy was blessed with nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren whom she adored. She believed that she lived a very full and adventurous life...and she did.

Her other beloved niece by sister Opal resides in Georgia, Julianne Sutton . John loved Longhorns football, BBQ, deer camp and boating on Lake Conroe or Lake Livingston with his kids. Entertaining family and friends around the table on Saturday afternoons brought him great joy. He was renowned for his humorous storytelling, his often-biting sense of humor and his ability to see comedy in everything – and to induce laughter in every room. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera Moody Bethea and Edward Alexander Gay; his younger brother, David Alexander Gay; and infant son, David Alexander Gay.

In 1950, she met and married the love of her life, Clarence “Dook” Cowen and they moved to Houston where they raised their family. To this union two beautiful daughters were born; Karen Lynn and Sonya Leah. Memorial service for John Eric Petty will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with the Rev. Raya Machupa officiating. John was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1960 as the third son of Terry and Katherine Petty.

In her spare time she loved to watch the wild birds and ducks in her back yard and read her daily devotional. He was a well-known mechanic in the Willis area for over 30 years, a trade he learned during his service in the United States Air Force. There was almost no type of work Joe could not perform, from building his own house, furniture building to fixing any type of small or large appliance. Carol was employed for many years at St. Louis State Hospital in the accounting department and then retiring to a job at St. Louis' Operation Brightside, a local nonprofit that works to grow community green spaces. In addition, she spent many years volunteering at the Chatillon-Demenil Mansion before becoming a board member for the Bryan Mullanphy Trust. In recent years she enjoyed being a member of the Galveston Beta Club and Lafitte Society. Surviving are daughter Kimberly, sons Ted, Chris & Tom, her six grandchildren, her sister-in-law Mildred Stiverson of La Jolla, California, her cousin Harriet Awapara of Houston, Texas, and her puppy dog Dexter.
She also loved her pets and treated them with love and respect. She helped keep her family together through hard work and determination. She had two children, Tommy H. Basler and Pamela B. Basler. Tom's children, Susan Vialpando , Thea Basler and Ryan Basler . Great grand Children, Lance and Allison Vialpando and Nathan John Basler.
In Loving Memory of Thomas Fred Griggs of The Woodlands, Texas who passed away on October 29, 2018. Born in Elmira, New York, Jim was the eldest son of Rowena and Wilfred Price. He spent many happy summers in upstate New York attending camp at Tanager Lodge. He loved the outdoors, a wood burning fire, Presbyterian hymns and all things chocolate. Jim lived a full, happy life and will be remembered by all who loved him for his guidance, his infectious laugh, and his great sense of humor.
